You set the threshold at which the program begins freeing up memory. When the available RAM falls below the set minimum, the software automatically cleans it up to prevent the system from dumping resources into the paging file. The paging file is virtual memory on the disk, and it's much slower, so the longer the system runs on physical memory, the better.
The statistics tab shows how much memory is free and how much is used, plus it shows paging file usage. You can configure two thresholds: the first is the minimum free memory at which the program will warn you, and the second is how much memory it will attempt to free up when it comes to cleaning.
After the initial setup, the software sits in the system tray and runs automatically, eliminating the need to access it every time. Incidentally, the system tray displays current memory usage in real time, making it easy to keep an eye on.
There are plenty of settings, including adjusting full-screen behavior for games, the CPU-to-memory ratio, and more. The interface is simple, so even a beginner can figure it out without instructions.

To be honest, such memory optimizers are controversial; on systems with 16 GB or more of RAM, the effect will be minimal.
