This is one of those Sci-Fi series that has been pulled from streaming and no longer available to buy new on DVD, so is disappearing fast. I couldn’t find either a complete release of this classic Sci-Fi series or a release of reasonable quality, so made my own. Episodes are numbered in narrative order not aired date order as they were aired out of sequence.

In 2192, most of the human population has fled Earth to live on large orbiting space stations. Only a small number of humans remain on the Earth's surface as the Earth has become mostly uninhabitable.

Billionaire Devon Adair's eight-year-old son, Ulysses Adair, has contracted a rare, fatal disease called "the syndrome", a condition whose existence is not acknowledged by the government and medical community. It is theorized that this disease, which affects only children, is somehow caused by the lack of an Earth-like environment. Most children who are born with the disease do not live past the age of nine.

Desperate to save her son, Adair puts together a group who will pioneer the effort to settle a planet 22 light-years away from Earth, on which other families with members thus afflicted can settle. The eventual colonization of the planet, however, is opposed by the government. Secret monitoring and agent infiltration threaten the creation of the colony of New Pacifica. Hours before Adair's group intends to leave, a bomb is discovered, set to explode the hour the ship would leave. The Eden Project leaves immediately, jettisoning the bomb before detonation. In "The Church of Morgan", it is revealed this bomb was planted by the Council to stop the ship from leaving.

Twenty-two years later, the ship arrives at G889, but it crash lands a great distance from the planned landing site. With her group scattered on the planet and supplies missing, Adair marshals what survivors she can find and begins heading west to the planned site of New Pacifica.

During their travels, Adair and her companions slowly learn to cope with life on the alien world, which at first seems superficially Earth-like but which is gradually revealed to have a very different ecology, including at least two different native sentient and humanoid species—a short and stout race at the level of development of hunter-gatherers, with a propensity towards kleptomania, known as "Grendlers" and the much taller and lankier "Terrians", who are capable of telepathic communication, can tear rents and tunnels in the earth through a pseudo-psychic process and whose well-being is somehow linked to that of the planet. The survivors also learn that the Council—a government group that seems to wield most of the power on the space stations—wants to gain control of G889 for resettlement. Through their various experiments, they have learned that they cannot remove the Terrians without killing the planet. This complicates matters, because Adair's son, who has been healed by the Terrians and begun to exhibit some of their unique characteristics, has become the key to the Council's plan for the planet.

Episode 1 - First Contact (Pilot)

A new planet offers hope to Devon Adair's physically impaired son and others like him. Adair ignores government orders, assembles a crew and embarks on a journey to the unblemished planet 22 light years away.

For Devon Adair and the other colonists, their arrival on the new world Earth 2 begins with a crash landing. Important instruments and equipment are damaged. Furthermore, the group finds itself far from the area they had originally intended to settle. Now begins a long and dangerous march into the unknown. No one knows exactly what awaits them on the planet.

Episode 2 - The Man Who Fell to Earth (Two)

As the colonists begin their journey, John Danziger is the first to observe Gaal, who joins the group with the explanation that he was an astronaut explorer lost on the planet for years.

Episode 3 - Life Lessons

Gaal seeks True's friendship but reveals himself as an enemy. Gaal sees young True's lack of attention from the others and turns to her to achieve his evil goals.

Episode 4 - Promises, Promises

Alonzo Solace has often been visited by the Terrians through his dreams. This time it is a Terrian who needs the space pilot's help.

Episode 5 - A Memory Play

As the pioneers who crossed the American west, the colonists of Earth 2 know they will encounter many dangers and now, memo flashbacks remind them of the Eden Advance spaceship's harrowing final moments in space.

Episode 6 - Natural Born Grendlers

Alonzo in Dreamscape steps from Julia's tent to an open cliff with a huge circular landing pad. A Terrian pulls him back, and Alonzo awakes in the tent, his leg still injured. Devon talks to Yale about their dwindling food rations while Morgan enjoys a five course meal, courtesy of virtual reality.

Episode 7 - Water

With the Grendlers stealing reserves, the colonists must scan for bodies of much needed water. Danziger decides to head out in search of water and Devon insists on joining him.

Episode 8 - The Church of Morgan

The marriage of Bess and Morgan is threatened. Julia sees Uly's arm sink into the earth and senses an unknown power in him. Frightened he calls his mother, but in her presence the earth remains solid.

Episode 9 - The Enemy Within

Julie continues to experiment with Uly's DNA on orders from Reilly, but her duplicity is discovered by True who now has to convince the rest of the colonists.

Episode 10 - Redemption

Julia has been left behind and it weighs on the minds of all the colonists as they move across the harsh terrain. Only Alonzo turns back for her.

Episode 11 - Moon Cross

It is a chilly morning in the high desert as the group begins work. They think winter is their worst enemy but they are wrong.

Episode 12 - Better Living Through Morganite (1)

Morganite, a pulsating mineral that glows, causes a great amount of anguish for Yale and frightening problems for the others.

Episode 13 - Better Living Through Morganite (2)

At the biosphere, the petrifying geo-lock came within 100 meters of the camp. The colonists need the reversing code. Morgan attempts to reverse geo-lock before all is lost.

Episode 14 - Grendlers in the Myst

Seeking warm clothing, Danziger and other are tracking a fast-moving scavenger Grendler in wintry terrain when they come upon a fur-covered figure. The fleeing man wears a strange steel mask.

Episode 15 - The Greatest Love Story Never Told

Miles from nowhere, Danziger crosses the frozen tundra looking for food, severely unprotected from the harsh weather. Suddenly, a mysterious hooded figure appears.

Episode 16 - Brave New Pacifica

Inside a cave two eager Grendlers interact as they rummage through an insulated box marked ""Eden Project."" Brushing away spider webs, they see the words ""Human Blood"" printed on the side.

Episode 17 - The Boy Who Would Be Terrian King

The present and future are mixed as Devon tries to save Uly's life. It is the future and we are in Expansionist Territory. A man and a rebel Terrian tie off explosives lowered into a generator.

Episode 18 - After the Thaw

Danziger, Julia and Walman discover and excavate a Terrian corpse frozen in ice and completely preserved. That night, both Alonzo and Morgan are confronted in their dreams by the unfrozen, half-decaying, but very much alive Terrian.

Episode 19 - Survival of the Fittest

Danziger surveys an endless, forbidding vista as he returns to the dunerail where Julia, Morgan and Alonzo are waiting. There has been a serious direction error but he wants to go on in spite of Devon and Yale's warnings.

Episode 20 - Flower Child

Scouting in all directions, Danziger, Bess and Morgan come upon colorful flower buds which burst open throwing a golden powder in their faces. The flower pollen carries a sickness that causes them to emit a golden vapor.

Episode 21 - All About Eve

The colonists come upon a crashed Earth re-entry research module. The open the hatch of the 100-year-old craft and find there is still nuclear power.
