Synopsis:
In the bleak, chaotic slums of Beirut, Zain El Hajj (Zain Al Rafeeya), a hardened yet fiercely resilient 12-year-old Syrian refugee boy, is serving a five-year prison sentence for a violent stabbing. In a shocking, highly publicized courtroom twist, Zain launches a unprecedented civil lawsuit against his own neglectful parents. His explicit charge? "For giving me life." Flashing back through his harrowing journey, the narrative uncovers Zain’s desperate survival on the streets after running away from his family—who sold his beloved 11-year-old sister into an arranged marriage with a predatory landlord.
