Synopsis:
Maik Klingenberg (Tristan Göbel) is a wealthy but deeply isolated 14-year-old Berlin teenager coping with a dysfunctional family—his alcoholic mother spends her summers in a "beauty rehab" clinic while his detached father goes on "business trips" with his young assistant. Left completely abandoned in his family's massive suburban villa over summer vacation and rejected by his high school crush, Maik’s fate takes a radical turn when Andrei "Tschick" Tschichatschow (Anand Batbileg), a rebellious, eccentric Russian-immigrant classmate, pulls up in a stolen light-blue Lada. Together, these two social outcasts embark on an unplanned, unforgettable journey through the sun-drenched East German countryside, discovering the raw meaning of freedom, friendship, and humanity.
