Synopsis:
Based on a profound, deeply moving true story set during the turbulent 1980 Gwangju Uprising. One afternoon, he overhears another driver mentioning a lucrative fares offer: a wealthy foreigner willing to pay a fortune to be driven down to the southern city of Gwangju and back before curfew. Unaware that the passenger is Jürgen Hinzpeter (Thomas Kretschmann), a courageous West German investigative journalist tracking military blockades and severe civil unrest, Man-seob takes the job. What begins as a simple quest for quick cash transforms into a heart-wrenching, historic journey into the dark heart of a military dictatorship, forever shaping the history of modern democratic Korea.
