Hello guys, I know the file size of this movie might seem a bit large, but there’s a proper reason behind it. This encode is done using CRF 18 with a slow preset, following my own encoding script which is designed to preserve maximum source quality instead of aggressive compression. Since the source is an older print, it naturally contains grain and texture, and compressing it too much would break the image, crush details, and introduce visible artifacts—especially on bigger screens like TVs or PCs. That’s why a higher bitrate is maintained to keep the picture clean, stable, and true to the original source. In simple terms, the larger size comes from lower compression, and lower compression ensures better quality—because in the end.

Size doesn’t matter, quality does...
