Pre-processing: Sourced from a rare German 720p HDTV broadcast to get the uncropped 4:3 Open Matte framing.
Mastering & Upscale: Upscaled to 4K resolution using Topaz Video AI, and exported to a ProRes 422 HQ master.
Audio Capture & Cleanup: The French 2.0 track was ripped from my own retail VHS using a Pro S-VHS VCR and a dedicated sound card with shielded cables. Clicks and pops were cleaned using iZotope RX Pro before being synced in Audacity.
Encoding: x265 10-bit via HandBrake at RF 20.0 (Medium preset).

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a special one. The official Blu-ray is heavily cropped to 1.66:1. I actually have a 1080p Open Matte source on hand, but it has a massive TV channel logo baked into it. I tried removing it, but the results were just too messy and full of artifacts for my standards. So, I opted for a clean 720p HDTV broadcast instead to give you the full 4:3 picture. The Topaz export was done in ProRes 422 HQ. The 4K upscale is slightly less "sharp" than my usual Blu-ray sourced releases, but it's the best way to get a clean, uncropped frame right now.
Regarding the French audio: I politely asked a well-known French Disney "preservationist" if I could use his Laserdisc Mono rip. His reply basically insinuated that I was just there to grab his hard work. Message received. So, I did the job myself: I captured my own VHS tape with my pro gear and cleaned it up with iZotope RX. The result is a pristine, warm, uncompressed FLAC track.

Mastering & Upscale : Upscale direct en 4K avec Topaz Video AI. Export du master en ProRes 422 HQ.
Capture Audio & Nettoyage : La piste FR 2.0 vient de ma propre VHS, numérisée avec mon magnéto S-VHS Pro et ma carte son dédiée (câblage blindé). J'ai nettoyé les clics avec iZotope RX Pro avant de la synchroniser sur Audacity.
Encodage : x265 10-bit via HandBrake en RF 20.0 (preset Medium).

⚠️ NOTE IMPORTANTE : Une release un peu spéciale. Le Blu-ray officiel est sévèrement recadré en 1.66:1. J'ai bien une source Open Matte en 1080p sous le coude, mais elle a un énorme logo de chaîne TV incrusté. J'ai essayé de l'effacer proprement, mais ça laissait trop d'artefacts à mon goût. J'ai donc préféré partir sur un 720p bien propre pour vous offrir l'image complète en 4:3. L'export Topaz a été fait en ProRes 422 HQ. Le piqué 4K est du coup un peu moins "tranchant" que mes upscales habituels, mais c'est le seul moyen d'avoir une image complète et sans watermark.
Pour l'audio FR : J'avais poliment contacté un "restaurateur" Disney bien connu pour lui emprunter son rip Mono Laserdisc. Sa réponse m'a fait comprendre que j'étais perçu comme un simple pilleur venu s'approprier son travail, j'ai fait le boulot moi-même en rippant ma propre VHS avec mon matos pro et en nettoyant le tout sous iZotope RX. Le résultat est une superbe piste FLAC sans compression, très chaleureuse.
