If there were a Mount Rushmore of core RiffTrax movies, Birdemic would absolutely be one of them. Also, instead of a mountain, our Rushmore would be sculpted from Utz cheese balls and kept in an abandoned workroom on the grounds of what used to be Pirates World. True prestige!

Now, at last, after many years exploring the cinematic Nguyen-iverse, we return to the source with Birdemic 3: Sea Eagle!

But wait, wasn’t there a second Birdemic movie, you ask? Perhaps there was, and perhaps we’ve chosen to ignore it the way Highlander 2: The Quickening was scrubbed from the official canon. We’re sticking to the good stuff, er, “good” stuff, and this one’s got it in spades:

A leading man who’s somehow stiffer than Rod! Long silent walks! Disjointed conversations about the environment with total strangers! A song from the man who sang “Hanging Out WIth My Family”’! Long awkward dates! And of course, the thing everyone comes to a Birdemic film for: lots of driving and parking!

Oh yeah, and there are some bird attacks or whatever. They come pretty late in the movie, and honestly kind of get in the way of discussions about the benefits of brain pills, real estate sales, as well as a wildfire that never appears on screen.

And if you’re wondering whether Alan Bagh, the man who played Rod, had time to show up and be in the movie: shockingly, he was available!

It’s a return to form and bizarrely delightful, if you’re weird like us. New challenge: are the people in the movie saying “sea eagle” or “seagull”? It’s the new "solrpnls." Hop in your Hot Ferrari and drive very gradually to the pier with Mike, Kevin, and Bill for Birdemic 3: Sea Eagle!
