Al largo della costa spagnola, due pescatori trovano un uomo nelle loro reti, che afferma di essere un membro dell'equipaggio di Juan Ponce de León, un conquistador spagnolo morto 200 anni prima durante una spedizione alla ricerca della Fonte della Giovinezza. L'uomo viene portato a Cadice, presso Re Ferdinando VI, che riceve dall'uomo pescato in mare il diario di viaggio di Ponce de León, per poi spirare.
