Un an après avoir perdu leur enfant, le photographe Shawn Burnett et sa femme, Helen, déménagent à la campagne pour y refaire leur vie. Un jour, Shawn découvre un pot contenant des dents dans une cabane située au fond de sa nouvelle propriété. Après quelques recherches, il apprend l’existence d’une légende selon laquelle cette cabane abriterait l’esprit malveillant d’une sorcière. Bientôt en proie à des hallucinations, il se met à craindre que la sorcière ne veuille s’emparer de l’enfant que porte sa femme, enceinte de nouveau.
